Everyone knows they need a skin care routine, but how much do you need a body care routine for healthy skin? Only a lot!! Have you forgotten how important your skin is? It does us no good to have a face like a 20 year old if the body doesn’t fit with it. This means you need to be taking care of everything from your neck and your chest to your fingertips and toes! Let’s discuss what an ideal body care routine for healthy skin would look like.

We all love sugar, but what are the effects of sugar on the skin? Many of us don’t realize that by consuming sugar, we can be doing long term damage to our skin and our bodies. For instance, did you know sugar is more addictive than cocaine? In a study done on rats research showed the rats would choose sugar over cocaine, even when the dose of cocaine was raised! Sugar consumption has dramatically risen in the last century, causing a growing list of health problems in its wake. Let’s talk a little about what I mean when I say sugar.

Have you seen the documentary called Fantastic Fungi on Netflix? It is an incredible look into the magical world of mushrooms. While this documentary was for most people the first time they started to see mushrooms as something other than gross squish fungus, for me I began to see mushrooms as something truly powerful when Eminence began using adaptogenic mushrooms in their products. So lets discuss the powerful benefits of using adaptogens in your skincare ritual.

I have been intermittent fasting for years and only recently have switched up my eating patterns based on a new study. This means I get to eat breakfast again and man oh man it feels like Christmas came early! I had forgotten how much I love breakfast food, because I associate breakfast with sugar like cereal, pancakes and muffins. However there is so much more to breakfast such as Avocado Toast! Since I don’t do anything basic, I enhanced this toast quite a bit with Microgreens and a few other skin healthy ingredients. Hope you like this delicious breakfast recipe!

June 4th is a Full Moon so in honor of this Strawberry Moon I designed these Full Moon Cookies based on an Ayurvedic cookie recipe with a coconut cream frosting flavored with strawberry powder! Trust me when I tell you, they are going to be your new favorite healthy treat because there is NO SUGAR in these cookies! Not even sweeteners like honey or agave! The natural sweetness comes from the dates. And the frosting…oh the frosting!! It’s a vegan buttercream alternative which I am so thankful I discovered because I could eat a bowl of buttercream frosting on its own. PLUS you can use any left over frosting (if you have any) as a luxurious, buttery, and natural shaving cream.

Baths are the best. One of my favorite self care things to do. There are so many health benefits to taking a bath! Let’s talk about the little things you can easily add to your bath to enhance the glow of your skin.

Did you know Eminence Organic Skincare is a Hungarian line of products? The origin story is truly amazing. If you want to read more in depth on this topic, please check out my article Why Eminence. In short, many of the recipes for the first products were original Hungarian family recipes.
So when I saw this recipe for Hungarian Mushroom Soup, I couldn’t help but make it myself. I’ve made a few tweaks to my take on the recipe but I’ve included the traditional recipe for you to be able to decide how to make yours.

Moon Milk is essentially tea made with milk instead of water. Meaning it is one of the simplest and tastiest things to make. I really hope you love this concoction I’ve made based on one of my mamma’s Christmas time pastry recipes: the Almond Twist. Although almond extract really brings the most forward flavor, cardamom and cinnamon are the strongest spice notes in this recipe as well as the hint of roasted chicory and chamomile. I add a few extra scoops of chamomile to really boost the relaxation as well as the anti-inflammatory properties for my elixir.
